This piece is dedicated to soprano cornet player Hein Voskamp. Hein passed away in 2018 and was a close friend of mine. When Hein became ill, he asked me to play the tune of this piece at his funeral. After Hein’s passing I felt the need to write down his feelings through the medium of composition and Unbounded Love was the result.

The piece is based on the song Prayer to the Power of Love, a song only used in the Dutch Salvation Army. The original melody is by Russian composer Dmitri Bortniansky (1751 – 1825).
